The art and culture of the ancient Greeks and Romans have always interested me – which has greatly influenced my current work in the ceramics studio.  I like to take my knowledge of classical ceramics and sculpture, as well as the history of other cultures, and use it as a stepping off point to create ceramic pieces in the ancient style with a modern twist.  I use humor, feminism, and pop culture to turn my view of classical art into something relevant to this century.

I was introduced to ceramics as a small child, but was not given the opportunity to sculpt again until I was well into college. From the moment I started my first ceramics class, everything seemed to fall into place. My eye is definitely in the details with a passion for making small objects. I have pushed myself to make life-sized pieces and get out of my miniature-sized comfort zone in order to take my work to the next level.
